The Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal project has reached 37% completion in its construction phase, according to technical monitoring as of June 2026.
The project represents an estimated investment of approximately B/.2.6 billion and is part of a strategic transport infrastructure plan aimed at strengthening the connection between Panama City and West Panama, one of the country’s fastest-growing urban, residential, and commercial regions.
Construction is currently underway on deep foundations, main towers, viaducts, and access roads, all essential components for integrating both ends of the bridge with the existing road network in the metropolitan area.
In addition, the project includes a large-scale interchange and a high-capacity road system featuring viaducts and strategic connections. These works will help reorganize traffic flows and significantly improve mobility between the capital and the western expansion zones, one of the busiest corridors in the country.
During peak construction activity, the project is expected to generate approximately 9,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting sectors such as construction, services, and logistics.
Authorities have stated that the project is progressing according to schedule and remains on track for completion in 2028.
